Ellie Seabrook Mixtape
I am also having difficulty uploading onto mix cloud tonight after several attempts this evening, so here is my track listing and I shall bring it with me to class and also try uploading again tomorrow.
1. Blues Brothers - Everybody Needs Somebody to Love
I watched the film all of the time when I was younger and also had the soundtrack. This song is one of the best scenes in the film and intro makes me laugh every time.
2. Aretha Franklin – Respect
Again discovered through the Blues Brothers but Aretha needs to be on every girl’s iTunes!
3. Ce Ce Peniston - Finally
In the 90s my Dad used to DJ and so dance tracks (now classics) like this were always playing. I also find that every person I’ve ever met knows the words!
4. Robin S – Show Me Love
Another classic from the 90s but also over the last few years has been played in clubs thanks to the uprising of house. One of my favourite tracks to dance to, and arguably one of the greatest dance tracks of all time?!
5. Wiley- Wearing My Rolex
This track has become the song to turn to when testing any new speakers in my family because the intro is so great. It’s unlike his grime signature style but this track has a great old school garage vibe and I think it’s one of his best.
6. Camo & Krooked - Turn up the music
I am a big fan of Annie Mac and I had a shout out on a Friday night 2 years ago over the intro to this song. I’ve loved it ever since.
7. Axwell- Nothing But Love
At Creamfields 2010 this was played during the Swedish House Mafia set. Even though it was raining outside the atmosphere inside the tent was brilliant, there were great theatrics and even fireworks. I remember when this song dropped, giant love-heart shaped confetti fired from the front and covered the crowd, and it was one of my favourite ever festival moments.
8. Beyonce- Get Me Bodied [Extended Mix]
This song is the perfect song to get ready for a night out with friends who also know it. It is just over 6 minutes and is longer than it takes for me to do my make up, just in time for the cheesy dance moves Beyoncé recommends in the last few minutes!
9. Robin Thicke- Lost without you
Last summer my friend and I spontaneously took her mum’s car to Italy for a week. When the radio couldn’t pick up any stations which would happen daily, we would put on her Mum’s car CDs (often love ballads), and this was one of the few tracks we had heard of and liked! We ended up playing it about 5 times a day so this song reminds me of that holiday.
